In the film, Glen Powell plays officer of the United States Navy and a naval aviator Tom Hudner. Jonathan Majors also stars as Jesse Brown, a United States Navy officer and the first African-American aviator to complete the U.S. Navy's basic flight training program.

You might recognize Glen Powell from Top Gun: Maverick (2022) in which he also played a pilot, Lieutenant Jake "Hangman" Seresin. In that film he wore Ray-Ban glasses.
