Renauld Mustang - Rossano Brazzi - The Italian Job

In the opening scene in The Italian Job (1969), the driver of the Lamborghini Miura P400, played by Rossano Brazzi, wears Renauld Mustang sunglasses.

The driver of the Lamborghini puts on the glasses half way the opening sequence, while driving through the The Great St Bernard Pass, giving the viewer a great look at the stylish shades. After the car crashes, we see another close up of the Renauld glasses on the road, just before they get stepped on by a member of the Mafia.

Renauld was a well known and stylish brand inthe 1960s. After an almost 40 year hiatus from the world of high fashion, 2019 saw the renaissance of the Renauld brand with the formation of Renauld Sunglasses based in the UK. In January 2020, a promotional photo shoot featuring the original Lamborghini Miura P400 from the Italian Job film was completed in the Alps of Liechtenstein.

The gold wrap sunglasses seen in The Italian Job are available once more, now called the "Rossano", after the actor who wears the originals in the movie.

Renauld is best known best for creating wrap-around, gold-framed sunglasses in the 1960s, which were worn by many celebrities including Jackie Onassis, Warren Beatty, Mick Jagger, The Velvet Underground and Le Mans racing driver Sir John Whitmore.
